Adam and Sarah Thorowgood are considered to be the

Adam and Sarah Thorowgood are considered to be the founding colonists of the Virginia Beach area. The name has since been modernized but their legacy lives on. They are responsible for several thousand souls making their way to what will become Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The History walk located at the Thoroughgood Elementary School’s entrance captures Adam’s rise from indentured servitude to the House of Burgesses and Sarah’s expansion of the family holdings after Adam’s death. Their legacy lives on at the Thoroughgood Elementary School with the history walk.

Fall 🍁feels and fine finishes on this completed residential project 🏡

WPL was able to help this client through the CBPA process, starting with site analysis and programming, coordination with the City of Virginia Beach CBPA Development staff, conceptual CBPA site plan and CBPA exhibit.

The final product is stunning 😍

Circle Of fifths is a music theory diagram for finding the key of a song, transposing songs to different keys, composing new songs and understanding key signatures, scales and modes.

The Circke of Fifths was deliberately left unfinished in support of the music curriculum here at Princess Anne middle school in Virginia Beach.

As part of the large design team, WPL submitted the HRSD Woodstock Park project to this year’s HRACRE Design Awards.

The team was awarded the Merit Award in the Best Sustainable or Well-Building Project category! 🥇

This project was a cohesive and collaborative effort between the City of Virginia Beach and HRSD to put a skate park / park on top of a water treatment facility. We are honored to have worked on this project!
